                     Day 17. Shakti Yantra Practice

Mahavidya Sri Lalita Tripura Sundari is the embodiment of beauty. Her very name expresses her playful nature and describes her as the beauty reigning supreme in all the 3 worlds.
She is the beauty inherent in the ultimate truth. To follow her path is to experience the beauty and delight existent, in all of creation. The pure bliss of existence is Devi.
The word Tripura emerging in Sanskrit means the 3 cities. As Goddess supreme of the 3 cities, Lalita Devi is the creator of all the various triads existing in the world. The 3 states of consciousness, {waking, dreaming and sleeping}, the 3 gunas{rajas, tamas and satva}, the 3 bodies{causal, astral and physical} are just a few of her playgrounds. All these exist solely for the delight and desire of the supreme consciousness, to experience itself.
She herself, appears to her devotees in 3 dhyana forms. She is the young, 16 years old Shodashi {an inspiration to the novice}, then again she is Sundari {the delight to be found in the act of meditation}. And then she is Raja Rajarajeshwari {the supreme commander in chief of all creation}.
Her appearance is breathtaking and several odes have been written to her mesmerizing beauty and generosity. Mahavidya Lalita is of the brilliant hue of thousands of rising suns. With 3 eyes and 4 arms, she is bedecked in the finest of silk and jewels, and fragrant blossoms.
In one hand she is seen carrying a sugarcane bow and in the other, fragrant flower arrows, that she shoots upon her followers and filling them with delight and sweet bliss. In her third, she carries an Anusha or Goad with which she nudges the sadhaka further along the path of realization. And in the 4th is a Pasha or noose, symbolic of the way she captures the hearts of her devotees with her mesmerizing beauty and blissful presence.

Her knowledge which is of the purest and most auspicious variety is called Srividya and her yantra Srichakram is the most auspicious and powerful yantra and holds within it the very blue print of creation.
